 Gordon Stimers兄とエドワード吉田先生お二人が、私たちとトロントとその地にある兄姉と結び付けて下さった、感謝。

☆When I was reading the Toronto Star recently, Miyamura Sensei, I noticed that your hosting couple from the High Park Church, Mr/Mrs. Godon couple, was in the news. Gordon Stimers passed away recently, having achied the age of over 90. I remember driving M/M Takayama, missionaries to Al;aska & later to Russia, also to their home for dinner.. They were so kind & hospitable to missionaries from Japan. Heaven will be richer because of Mr. Stimers.

Now, some Ministry news from this side...

some Ministry news from this side ...
What an awesome Sunday it was yesterday! It started discouragingly when the pastor drove to pick up 2 seniors from the J. Seniors Residence, Dave A. & another lady. Her memory has deteriorated to the point that she forgets much of what she promised within half an hour. had to buzz her 3 times before 9:30, & still she never made it to the entrance where we waited. Finally, we had to leave to pick up Marita, who was called earlier to say that we're slightly behind schedule.
but the discouraing start was more than rewarded when this family of 4 recently arrived from N. India , Arman (father), Marisha (wife), Gracie & little Prince were already sitting towards the rear when we arrived. They were introduced to the pastor thru Niroshima because she works for Travel Lodge Hotel. After the pastor was invited to offer the Pastoral Prayer, he introduced them to the congregation. They were warmly welcomed. During the refreshment fellowship, Niroshima biked furiously to arrive in good time & joinedin their w elcome more personally. they were so overwhelmed by the love/friendship of our congregation that they immediately announced their interest in both the Tuesday Prayer Meeting & the Wednesday Discipleship Training at the Fairview. We left the church much gratified & rewarded. (It was so good to seeJohn K. & his group also sharing over spiritual subjects at the same Fairview Mall last Wed.)
then the pastor visited Sheppard Lodge to see Freida Graham, resident. As soon as she saw the pastor walk in with a bag of Sushi / pickles, her faced brightened up into a big smile & announced she couldn't eat any more, giving the pastor her dessert. (she wanted to retreat immediately to her room for Sushi, etc. She, too, has lost much of her memory & kept asking what day of the week it was today)
Saturday was a shocking day for the pastor when he found out that ol' friend, Terry Carter, was in the Scarb. General Hospital. He, too, had surgery on his prostate & had to be admitted for several days. Since he was being discharged on Monday, pastor rushed to his room without going home after church. He was deeply engaged in witnessing to his roommate when the pastor walked in. We engaged in a 3-way discussion on spiritual matters, but this 'angry ex-R.C. had no use for God/religion. After the pastor was gone Terry was consoled with a box of sushi for his late lunch.. He called today to say that he was discharged.
